WORKS PROGRAM

The dam works program was divided into three phases. ‘Phase 1’ included the concept design, approvals and Target Outturn Cost (TOC). 'Phase 2', which began in late 2007, involved the early construction works, preparing the site for 'Phase 3'.

'Phase 3' is now underway and includes the construction period which will continue until late 2010. This phase includes:

• increasing the height of the dam wall and spillway
• lengthening the Saddle Dam
• increasing the height of the intake towers
• relocation and refurbishment of recreational facilities
