
COMMUNITY CONSULTATION
Talking to the Community
Engaging the community is a high priority for the Hinze Dam Alliance. It is important community members are informed and able to voice their concerns. The Alliance is committed to providing the community with timely information on the project. Consultation initiatives already undertaken include:
- the establishment of the Community Advisory Committee (CAC)
- nine CAC meetings over a twelve month period
- door knocking residents in the Hinze Dam area
- fact-sheets and mail outs advising of works
- information sessions regarding the Terms of Reference and the Environmental Impact Statement
- establishment of a Stakeholder Engagement team onsite at Hinze Dam
- public meetings and presentations
- print advertising and media releases
- web updates
- SMS alerts
- face-to-face meetings
- implementation of two school programs
- Schools Road Safety Program
